Strategies to Improve Connectivity

  • The strategic plan of the Ministry of Civil Aviation for year 2010-15 has been prepared. 
  • The strategic plan focuses in identified areas such as World Class infrastructure facilities, establishment of Regulatory Framework in consonance with international standards, connectivity, skilled manpower according to the needs of the industry etc
  • The vision of the plane is to enable people to have access to safe, secure, sustainable and affordable air services in world class civil aviation.
In its plan the Ministry has planned to pursue on following six strategies in order to improve connectivity of people by air services:
  • Connecting un-served and under-served areas – through increase of airport infrastructure in such areas using the appropriate development model. 
  • Inter Government Collaboration - The ministry shall work with other government agencies to identify opportunities of reducing risks and hurdles for the aviation sector and address issues of taxation, duties and other economic constraints that may impact the economic health of the sector. 
  • Helicopters – which provide immense flexibility of operations and can also be deployed quickly for strategic requirements and to deal with emergency situations. 
  • Last mail connectivity – by creating a mechanism to integrate the larger airports with smaller airports in the region. 
  • Policy Review - Review the policy framework for regional airlines.
  • Aviation Growth - Develop an approach towards the growth of general aviation in the country: A study shall be conducted through experts to develop a vision and roadmap for the vibrant growth of general aviation in the country, putting it at par with benchmark nations.

Predictions about The Future of World Religions in 2050, and comparing with the year 2010

Pew Research Center has released a report on "The Future of World Religions: Population Growth Projections, 2010-2050" on April 02, 2015. The report predicted that the future of the world religions will change demographically. The fertility rate, youth population, stabilization programmes and other factors were kept in mind while preparing the report. Some of the salient points about the projections: The Muslims will reach near the populations of Christians in the world in the year 2050. The Hindus will constitute the fourth largest population group in the world, preceded by the Unaffiliated (Nastiks? ).  The share of Jews in the USA population will be outnumbered by the Muslims population. 151 Lakh tonnes Additional Foodgrain Storage to be Created in 19 States

Creation of Additional Food-grain Storages in India The Government has formulated a scheme to Create 151 Lakh tonnes Additional Foodgrain Storage in 19 States . These Storages will be used for additional foodgrains, and will also reduce the storage under Cover and Plinth (CAP).  This Government of India Scheme has construction of storage godowns through  Private Entrepreneurs,  Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) and  State Warehousing Corporations (SWCs).  Under the scheme, the Food Corporation of India would now give a guarantee of ten years for assured hiring to the private entrepreneurs . A capacity of about 151 lakh tonnes is to be created under the scheme in 19 states.
